Have you started planning ?
Thank you to everyone who got in touch following my last email. I have had some great questions and feedback, which I always welcome.
If you missed it, here is a quick recap:
Smaller IFAs are starting to feel the pressure.
Recent coverage in Financial Planning Today has highlighted a growing trend — more and more smaller firms are choosing to leave the sector.
Why now? Two key reasons:
Regulatory burden – Meeting Consumer Duty standards and keeping up with evolving FCA requirements is becoming increasingly demanding.
Tax changes – Adjustments to Business Asset Disposal Relief introduced in April 2025 — with more scheduled in 2026 — are making it less financially attractive to sell. April 2026 may seem a while off, but planning early is vital to secure the best outcome.
At Harrison Spence, we have supported hundreds of IFA owners in navigating their exit. What makes us different? We act for both sellers and buyers thus helping ensure a balanced, well-structured deal that works for everyone.
Our approach helps you:
• Find the right buyer who will respect your legacy
• Make the process smoother and less stressful
• Ensure a seamless experience for your clients and team.
