Summer Thinking

by | Sep 1, 2020 | For Clients

The other evening my wife drearily said to me, “Have you noticed it is getting darker earlier in the evenings?”  Oh great, winter, something else to look forward to I thought.

Indeed, the summer is drawing to a close, the garden is still blooming but the long summer days are running out.  During August, a traditional holiday time, I know many business owners like myself try to formulate an autumn plan, something we want to achieve by the end of the year. This thought process normally starts towards the tail end of a holiday when holidaying has all got a bit much; then in early September we return to the office and start to enact our plan.

It has been a bit different this year, a good proportion of us have holidayed at home, normally Harrison Spence is quiet in August, but we have remained quite busy. There are lots of questions floating around at the moment and we are often used as a sounding board by IFAs to impart information about “What’s everyone else doing”

If you have been having any holiday thoughts about making changes to your business this autumn, please do get in touch, we will be delighted to help in any way we can.  Please remember, we are a “full service” company we handle much more than just Mergers and Acquisitions.

Our annual survey is much later this year, it will  be released in early September, please look out for it.  It is a genuine attempt to garner your thoughts on what is happening in the market at the moment, also, there have been a few pieces of news doing the rounds recently that we disagree with and we would like to obtain your thoughts.

Whilst on my  ‘Holiday at home’, I was asked to contribute to an excellent article by Octopus Investments, on “Bridging the gap”, if you haven’t read it yet, I would recommend you do, It is a  good read.

Finally, I have also recently had a great, fun day out filming our upcoming videos with Dr Matt, which we will be releasing in the autumn.  I hope many of you will find these useful.

I hope you all stay safe and well and please watch out for our survey.
